Abstract
Speaking of mysticism and epic with together based on the classic definitions and divisions and common believes on literal genres may seem contradictory at first, but contemplating about the content of Shahnameh guides us toward the fact that Iran's national epic book contains both heroic tales and philosophic and sapiential concepts which can be explained thorough some mystic and philosophic principles. On the other hand, a great part of Shahnameh has strong instructive aspect in which the poet narrates various moral, political and social concepts through the words of kings, priests and heroes in tales; the lessons which are the mutual aspect of Shahnameh and gnostic instructions. Marvelous actions and reactions, great concepts hidden in depth of myth, mysterious creatures and symbolic quotes and acts in Shahnameh are among the interests of many thinkers in the field of meaning and gloss; the main axis of this research is Ferdowsi’s morbidity and his explanation about the honorable death of all kings and heroes of shahname and emphasizing on mortality of the ethereal world and inspiring the instruction based on it such as not having greed and having the choice of freedom which all mystical lessons and great mystics have been about to teach in different ways.
