Selfhood and Material Demonstrations
Abstract
The basic thought of Iqbal circles around “Selfhood” (Khudi)
and its completion. In the beginning, Iqbal derived the steps of
establishment of selfhood from the thoughts of mystics (Sufis)
but afterwards he explained it in his poetry, essays and
especially in his lectures. Iqbal has successfully put forward
his effort to provide the idea logical basis to this philosophical
concept. Though, this concept is derived from Quran but also
the debate of acceptance and rejection of western philosophy
is present there. Knowledge raises question and these
questions lead towards the philosophy. This article through
light on understand the different aspects of human selfhood.
