Abstract
Persian and Pashto are aryan (Iranian) languages belonging to Indo-European language family,
both languages are similar to each other in a number of ways. Persian language became the
sole official language under the Mughal emperor’s .During the power of Mughal in the
subcontinent the language, culture, literature and education was influenced by Persian
language. Many languages like Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi and Pashto etc contain a great number of
Persian words. Persian language has had a major linguistic and literary influence on Pashto
language. Like other poets Rehman has also used countless Persian words in his poetry .The
aim of this article is to highlight the lingual impacts of Persian language on the poetic works
of Rehman Baba.
