Abstract
Sindhi language is a unique language in its sound as well as in orthography. Languages which are presently written in ‘Naskh’ form i.e right to left, in these Sindhi has accumulated higher characters in its alphabetic order. It was rearranged by a Government Committee in 1853. These 52 characters make Sindhi a ‘super set’ in other Arabic-Persian script languages. Likewise the phonetic system of Sindhi retain different aspirated stop characters, five are not included in the alphabet. In these aspiration stop two characters ‘جهه’and ‘گهه ‘are special in orthography of Sindhi Language, they are not compound characters and have no linked with Arabic Makhlooti ‘هه ‘because the ‘جهه ‘and ‘گهه ‘are single unite of phoneme, and ‘هه ‘as a character is not a part of these letters, in these characters ‘هه ‘has no Phonemics Value and can not be divided in orthographic structure. The ‘جهه ‘and ‘گهه ‘were called great breath sounds, the Arabic ‘هه ‘is not part of these sounds. If one can write Arabic Makhlooti ‘هه ‘with ‘ج ‘or ‘گ ‘and form a compound letter ‘جهه ‘or ‘گهه ‘it means one additional character included in Sindhi Alphabet, and then counting quantity will be 53 letters, instead of 52 recognized characters of Sindhi Alphabet. This paper proposed the proper usage of pure Sindhi Characters like ‘ڪ’، ‘هه’ , ‘گهه’ , ‘جهه‘and ‘ک ‘in the original form, which are recognized characters of Sindhi script in spelling, whether in composing or in writing. The problem of mixing up of Arabic and Sindhi letters in Unicode system is puzzling the phonetic system of Sindhi language and only language experts can solve the problem which Sindhi is facing in composing texts. The responsibility rests on the language experts to protect the historical sanctity of Sindhi Script.
