The art of alliteration in poetry of Shaaban al-Athari

Abstract
The topics of Arabic literature have variety in poetry and prose. It is not limited to what the ancient writers used, but new topics are also invented. A new style of praise appeared in the poetry that is a prophetic praise. The Kingdom period is distinguished by the poets who were rich in this art. There is another feature in this age for the prophetic praises, it is “ Al Badeeh “ ( البديع ) which was the most beautiful and general art in the kingdom period. People have made an outstanding contribution in this art. Shaaban al-Athari who was one of them wrote “ Badeeat “ ( البديعات ) in which he focused all kinds of Alliteration that made him one of the scholars of this outstanding art and one of the pillars of the Alliteration’s school in Egypt at that time. Alliteration is a term used in “Al Badeeh “(البديع ) which is a kind of Rhetoric. This research will cover the definition of the Alliteration, its types and its rhetoric, and life history of the poet Shaaban al-Athari and its poetry. In this brief study, I will present the models of the Alliteration mentioned in his poems. At the conclusion of the research, I will come to main findings of this study with the recommendations.
