Abstract
Field experiments were conducted to determine N , P and K requirements of sunflower ( Helianthus annuns L.) grown in heavy textured soils of rice tract. Four levels each of JV ( 0,60,120 and ISO Kg ha:'), P2Os ( 0, 50, 75 and 100 Kg ha') and K,0 ( 0, 60, 90 and 120 Kg ha') in different combinations were put to test. Data collected on seed
yield and yield components were subjected to standard statistical analysis. The crop indicated positive/significant response to N, P and K application. The quantum of response to N and P was much higher than K. Significant positive correlation was observed between seed yield and head size. Optimum fertilizer requirement computed was 142 Kg N, 66 Kg P20< and 34 Kg K20 per hectare for sunflower under experimental
condition.
