Abstract
lqbal is recknoed among those thinkers of 20th century who
were trend setters. Has indepth studies of oriental and
Occidental literature. His poetry is not for the sake of
poetry but encompases a well defind goal and mission. Not
only his poetry but also his prose had embedded in to the
dream of the revival of Muslim IJmmah. As a matter of fact,
hie put forword innovation ideas and thoughts for the
renaissance of past glory and grandieur of Ummah.
Some critics points out the contradictions his poetry. They
have the view that he was nationalist in the out set; how
ever he be come the champion of Muslim Ummah. However
there is no contradiction in his work. It is evolutionary stage
from which every renownd poet or thinker to pass in his
carreer.
