Abstract
Managenwnt of World Heritage Sires (hereafter WHS) is a critical topic and part of
its inrporlance emerges fronl rhe economic value that these sires bring 10 rhe areas and
where 'hey are located. This study shovvs how the management plan of WHS
can play a big role in the developnenr of the local conununity and the surrounding area.
It aims to ser general guidelines "'hic/' nlay help in the assessment of the management
plan and see how far or close fronl 'Sustainable Developnent' is a plan, wllich seeks
to improve the consen'ation of rhe heritage sites as well as the local communities and
rhe surrounding areas.
