Abstract
The religion of Islam is the religion of solidarity, compassion and friendship. According to the Quran, the companions of the Prophet (PBUH) and His preaching promoted brotherhood, peace, coexistence and Divine recommendations. Mysticism has been the main subject of prose and poetry of Persian literature since its beginning. The writers and poets of Persian language have continuously been putting in efforts to depict spiritual ideas with the help of art. The well-known mystic poets like Ba Yazid Bastami, Hussein ibn Mansoor Halahg, Abu Sa'id Abu-al-Khair, Mohammed bin Monawar, Nasir Khosrow Ghobadiyan and Baba Tahir Uryaan played their role in promotion of mystic poetry. In this period, not only did several poets emerge, but great books of Sufism were also produced by leading authors. In this article, the role of famous poets in the growth of Sufism from Abu Sa,id Abu-al-Khair to Mowalna Jalal-ul-Din Rumi has been analyzed with regard to their important works. The poets of this period spread the message of peace and reconciliation among the people through their works.
