Honor killing is a critical issue in the contemporary era that has encompassed the whole of
the world in it. It is not an issue of a particular region rather it seeks the efforts of
international organizations to eradicate this evil. South Asia is a region that is the home of
1/5 population of the globe and its member states are also facing the issue of honor killing.
In the current article, the researchers have focused especially Pakistan to find out the causes
of honor killing. Although researchers also discussed India briefly but the prime objective is
to explore the findings related the Pakistan. This study is based on purely qualitative data in
which the researchers collected primary and secondary data. In the primary data, the
researchers conducted in-depth interviews of the students of law and gender studies. These
students were selected by the purposive sampling technique that allowed targeting the most
suitable students that had rich knowledge about the topic. On the other hand, in the
secondary data, the researchers focused on the related books, articles and research reports.
This article will provide the socio-cultural determinants of honor killing in Pakistan.
