Bāgh-o-Bahār, the infamous collection of allegorical stories reportedly written in Persian by Amir Khusro, is not merely an Urdu classic, it has also been of great interest to researchers. The text has been edited several times and there have been different translations. This article reviews two of the best known edited versions of this book, one by Rashid Hasan Khan and the other by Mirza Hamid Baig. While both researchers claim authentic Although both researchers enjoy authentic credentials, there are several points of contradiction in the two versions, whereas both the researchers have also given strong arguments for their findings. This article studies the differences between these versions.
