Classical poets had great depth of knowledge and awareness of the
world around them. Such knowledge and awareness allowed them to present
the pain, problems, joy and jollification through smiles of the society with
great command through use of metaphors and other figures of speech. Unfortunately today’s poets do write poetry on subjects such as love, courtship etc,
but their poetry is devoid of a centric figure. Romantic poetry ought to present
lovers who meet and get separated, so both the feelings of meeting and separation are present as were present in the poetry of Shah and Sachal in Sindhi,
Ghalib and Faiz in Urdu, and Bhagat Kabir and Tulsi in Hindi poetry. In the
same manner Shaikh Ayaz, Tanveer Abbasi, and their contemporary poets
show such similar elements.
There is really a great dearth of such multisided and multifarious
poetry. After Shaikh Ayaz, the same was found in Tanveer Abbasi’s Poetry
which was filled with romantic element of lovers meeting and later on separating of lovers expressed through the medium of poetic techniques
