تلخیص
This paper is divided into two parts. The first part is about
columns and columnists. Here the definition of columns, its importance, the purposes of column writing and how columnists
deal with the standard of news with logic and satire are discussed.
A column is a product of journalism. In fact when people
became depressed due to the negative news being reported, they
started reading columns, where columnist using satire and humour were able to make them digest the bitter news. Columns are
not news rather news article.
In the second part, the development of Sindhi columns
published in various newspapers are discussed.
In the study, the world of Sindhi columns from 1885 till
1970 is explored. This paper describes the role of Sindhi columnists on various political and social issues. In fact this study determines the status of columns and columnists in Sindhi literature.
