The present study was conducted to see the relationship of personality
traits and ego-resilience in soldiers with amputation. The research also
took into consideration age, nature of amputation related differences in
resilience. Urdu translated versions of scales; Ego Resilience Scale
(Block & Kremen, 1996) and NEO-Personality Inventory -Revised Urdu
Version (Costa & McCrae, 1992) were used in study. The sample
comprised of 92 men soldiers (age ranged 20-50) with amputation. The
findings revealed that ego- resilience was negatively related to
neuroticism and positively related with extraversion, openness,
agreeableness, and cconscientiousness. Extraversion positively predicted
the ego-resilience. Implications of the findings for future research on
Pakistani soldiers with amputation are discussed.
