The study was designed to investigate public perception of the NGO schools
compared to the public & the private schools. Data for the study was collected
from seven villages. The respondents were divided into educated, uneducated and
religious groups. Interview schedule was administered to 105 respondents, i.e. 15
from each village and five from each category. Interviews of the respondents
were conducted on the spot. The data collected was statistically analyzed. The
study found that majority of the respondents supported the NGO schools and
appreciated their role in providing education.
