The present study examined relationship of father acceptancerejection and involvement with socio-emotional adjustment of adolescents in Pakistan. The sample constituted 100 adolescents with equal number from each gender with the mean age of 15 years. Father Acceptance-Rejection Questionnaire (PARQ; Rohner, 2004), Personality Assessment Questionnaire (PAQ; Rohner, 2004), Centre for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CESD; Radloff, 1977) and Teacher’s Evaluation of Student Conduct (TESC; Rohner, 2004) were used for assessment. Results revealed significant negative relationship of paternal warmth with adolescent hostility, dependency, negative self-esteem, negative world-view and depressive symptoms. Father’s hostility and rejection had significant positive relationship with hostility, depression and conduct problems in adolescents. Father involvement had negative relationship with adolescent hostility, dependency, negative self esteem, negative self adequacy, emotional unresponsiveness, negative world view and depression in adolescents. Father rejection, adolescent dependency and emotional instability emerged as significant predictors of depression in adolescents. Father’s hostility and lack of involvement emerged as significant predictors of conduct problems in adolescents. Results also demonstrated significant gender differences regarding paternal perception being rejecting or accepting, personality dispositions, depression and conduct problems.
