The study examined the impact of resilience on posttraumatic growth
(PTG) after a successful renal transplant. The contribution of clinical and
socio-demographic correlates influencing PTG was investigated using a
cross-sectional research design. A purposive sample of 113 male and 23
female renal transplant recipients (RTRs) were recruited from government
and private hospitals of Lahore and were assessed with Urdu versions of
Connor Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) developed by Connor and
Davidson (2003) and posttraumatic growth inventory (PTGI) developed
by Tedeschi and Calhoun (1996). The findings revealed that resilience
significantly predicted PTG, along with educational levels and current
employment. Cholesterol level was the only factor that influenced PTG in
clinical conditions.
