Dr. Nasir Abbas Nayyar is a well-known critic and distinguished short story
writer. His three collections of stories were published in 2016, 2017, and 2018.
These short stories, in terms of structural and thematic viewpoint, are unique
and different from contemporary literary tradition of Urdu fiction. "Khak ki
Mehak", "Farishta nahi aya", and "Rakh se likhi gayi kitab" has been analyzed
from the perspective of psychological realism. Nayyar is modern storywriter
from the thematic point of view and postmodern from the structural point of
view. Multidimensionality and plurality of meaning are the characteristic
features of his writings. These short stories are fine example of dialogism in
Urdu fiction.
