This research paper focuses on water dispute between India and Pakistan and its implications on the political relations between both the states. Water is very essential in the world of today and a tussle over water is seen quite on and off. Similarly India and Pakistan are facing problems regarding equitable water sharing because India by building dams and reservoirs on Pakistan‟s share of water is hampering their water resources and consequently are unable to support their bulging population. India presents its reasons that it has to support its general public and is doing everything in accordance with Indus Water treaty in national interest of its state. The data has been collected from primary and secondary sources. Moreover hydro hegemony theory has been applied in relation to water dispute between both the states. Thus it has been concluded that a proper amicable solution should be found in relation to water and a balance should be generated in sharing the “resource” rather dividing it.
