“Noor-ul-Qur’an” the poetic Translation of the Holy Qur’an The poetic translation of the
Holy Qur’an in Sindhi language by Haji Ahmed Mallah is famous and highly recognized
translation ever in the history of Sindhi religious poetry, in fact it is very historic work done
by a Sindhi poet Haji Ahmed Mallah. It is a privilege of Sindhi language that the approved
translation of the Holy Qur’an exists in a language which is a masterpiece of Sindhi language
and Sindhi poetry. First he translated in (Manzoom) the last chapter (para) of the Qur'an,
which was published by the Dar ul Isha’at, Hyderabad, after which the whole Qur’an was
translated into the Manzoom translation, which was published by Arbab Allah Jurio Khan
from Offset publishing Karachi in 1969. The same translation was published by the Mehran
Arts Council in 1978 by the Text Board of Sindh, the key note words written by Dr. Ghulam
Mustafa Qasimi, a renowned scholar and researcher of the case, which contains 800 pages of
poem. It should be borne in mind that earlier in the Kalhora period in Sindh, the translation
of the thirtieth chapter of the Holy Qur'an has been done by Makhdoom Mohammad Hashim
Thatwi, the leading scholar of Sindh, but the complete translation of the Holy Qur’an done by
Haji Ahmad Mallal the “Noor-ul-Qur'an”. In 1996, this translation was published by the
Saudi Prince Talal bin Abdul Aziz and distributed fi-sabilillah. Recently it is published by
Sindhica Academy. In this case done by Haji Ahmad Mallah, the manzoom translation of the
Qur’an, Dr. Ghulam Mustafa Qasmi writes,“This regular translation of the Qur’an is in front
of you, which is a new, unique, individualistic and a great translation of his own style”.
