Mawlānā Sa‘eed Aḥmed Akbar A’ābādī: In the Course of Scholarly Travels

تلخیص
As wise say travel is half of knowledge, therefore, this saying fits completely on the travelogue of Mawlānā Sa‘eed Aḥmed Akbar Aabādī. Mawlānā Sa‘eed Aḥmed Akbar A’ābādī (1908-1985) was one of the broad-minded ‘ulamas of the 20th century in the Indian sub-continent. He received both conventional as well as modern education and later taught there too. The course of intellectual erudition and personality impacts of Mawlānā Akbar A’ābādī was not only restricted to sub-continent but rather he travelled many countries across the globe as an expert scholar in Islāmic knowledge. Since the nature of these travels to various countries in different times was scholarly, they are described in his letters and travelogue. His travels to different countries and participation in scholarly meetings made him more splendors in his insights and provided knowledge and experience which is noticeable in his personality. This can be reviewed in the article under review. Mawlānā’s travelogues are the essence of his profound observations and studies. He observed every culture and their history very deeply, wherever he travelled, which provided him the opportunity to learn from the analysis of each event through observation. The nature of his travelogues is very simple and free of any artificiality; it offers an oasis of knowledge which can be well evaluated from his travelogues.
