The research paper deals with methodology of
lexical citation in lexicography of Qurân by Ghulam Ahmad
Parvaiz in the context of his book “Lughaat ul Qurân”. Lughat ul
Qurân consists upon four volums. The lexicon is a central
component of Parvaiz’s Qurânic literature and served as a
principle for Qurânic analysis.The most authentic method of
tafseer، affirmed by Muslim theologians، is to explain the Qurân
with Qurân. If it is not possible then to consuslt sunnah and
statements of Companions. Parvaiz denied sunnah and all other
authentic traditional sources of tafseer. He adopted free lexical
methodology in citation from Arabic dictionaries to explain Qurânic
words. He provides meanings of relevant word under its root,
quotes the verses of Qurân and applies the meanings by his own
choice.The lexical technique built up by Parvaiz to explain Qurânic words has been analyzed and his deviation from the authentic
principles of semantics has been surveyed in this paper.
