Erotic Poem as a theme in the history of Nigeria Arabic
Verse remains uncommon. Until 20th century when we begin to
have this kind of poem among few Nigeria scholars particularly in
the works of Muhammod Bukhari ibn Fodio. The beginning of 20th
century، a number of Arabic poets emerged. Their productions
focus on erotic poems in love for the theme. A times، they imitate
while sometimes innovate. Many of them to the best of our
knowledge revived the theme through their exposure at Arabic
Education outside the country including those who received theirs
inside the country. The aim of the research is to study generally
what had been said on erotic poem. the finding reveals that poets
of 21st century took the theme as a topic on its own which was not
common in the nineteen and twenty centuries.
