تلخیص
The article narrates the rights that were given to minorities at the time of independence. The speeches of the Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah gave minorities the status of equal citizen. After Quaid-i-Azam death the self-proclaimed defenders of Islam starting pushing minorities to the wall. The author mentions that first law minister was Joginder Nath Mandal who belonged to untouchable class of minorities; Zafarullah Khan was Pakistan first Foreign Minister who was from minority of Ahmedi sect. Mohammad Ali Jinnah through his practical action proved that Pakistan believes in equality of citizen. As long as a citizen is loyal to the country whether Muslim or non-Muslim, it is state duty to provide him/her all opportunities to progress and emancipation. Quaid-i-Azam untimely demise had a negative affect on minorities. They thought they were orphaned after the death of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The author has mention discriminations against minorities at the time of admissions in schools and in government jobs.
