A major work had been carried out to find the fertility status of Rawalpindi district for the provision of guide line to the farmers and researchers regarding a good crop production. Soilsamples were collected from different tehsils of Rawalpindi district for the estimation of soil texture pH, electrical conductivity saturation percentage, organic matter percentage, extractable phosphorus and exchangeable potash soil texture. A total of 26595 soil samples were collected during 1990-95. Soil texture varied from sandy loam (50 %) to ham (41 %),thepH values (90 %) were < 8.0, the electrical conductivity of more than 99 % soil samples were normal.
