Effect of nitrogen, in the form of urea @ 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 kg ha',by broadcast application, on nodutation in Sesbania bispinosa (dhancha) was studied. Maximum increase in the number of nodules plant', over control, at 15, 30, 45, and 60 days after germination .was with 30 kg N ha'1 and lower as well as higher doses of nitrogen had depressed nodulation. However, plant heights (cm) and dry matter yields (g plant' & tons ha'), at every cutting, showed a linear increase with the increasing rates of nitrogen.
