Twenty nine Oreochromis nilotica ') of different body si/es ranging from 7.0-25.5 cm total length and 6.1 - 32.8.8gr7 body weight were used for the analysis of morphometric variable of head length. head width, pectoral fin length, dorsal tin length, body girth, body depth, tail length and width in relation to total length and body weight of the fish to investigate allometric growth. It was observed that all these relations showed very high correlations. Slopes of the tog transformed data were used to compare with an isometric slope (b = 1 or h = 0.33 or b = 3). It was found that all the pararneten, examined showed isometric growth except head length, dorsal in length and tail length. which showed positive allometry in relation to total length and bod, weight. Growth in weight is almost proportional to the cube of its length, the values of the slope = 3.1) coincide with the slope of' an ideal fish. Regression parameters were found to be highly significant
