Throughout human history, outbreaks of infectious diseases have had deep and lasting effects on societies. Those events have powerfully shaped the economic, political, and social aspects of human civilization, with their impacts often lasting for centuries. Epidemic outbreaks also affect educational institutions as well as places of worship. Deadly pandemics have been occurring throughout history. Pandemics such as the Black Death (a plague outbreak during the 14th century), the Spanish flu of 1918 HIV, Sars, Ebola, Zika and the outbreak in the 21st century COVID-19 also caused millions of casualties all over the world. In the current study, 3the Religious teachings on infectious diseases are explained in the light of the Semitic religions have been explored. The study reveals that the Semitic religions have given overt instructions to their believers to stay aware of such epidemics and take into consideration preventive measures for the safety of public health. The study also recommends that religious scholars need to consider such important instructions and make them a part of their every day speeches and discussions that may guarantee protection to the public from such unforeseen and sudden contemporary medical issues.
