Jabir Ali Sayyed possesses a unique status in criticism, linguistics,
prosody, Iqbaliyat and poetry. This unique status of his includes him in the
list of genius personalities. He gave a disciplined shape to practical criticism
and comparative studies in urdu criticism. Jabir is also a poet. The title of
his poetic collection is "Mouj-e-Ahang" in which lyrics, poems, Ruba'iyat
have been translated, along with western poetic literature. His status as
being a "Translator" other than a "Poet" is also obvious through this poetic
collection. Jabir Ali Sayyed's position as a poet has been defined in this
research article.
