تلخیص
The term postmodernism is coined for the study of British and French cultural
and literary scenario of imperialism from 18th to 20th century. In the context of
postcolonialism, the study of literature aims to diminish western culture and its
values of Eurocentrism. In western postcolonialism, Fanom and Said are
significant names and in Urdu literature, Nasir Abbas Nayyar and Gopi Chand
Naring are considered important critics. In modern Saraiki poetry elements of
postcolonial thoughts are present. In the poetry of Isha Loal and Riffat Abbas,
the elements of resistance against oppression and hegemony, and local cultural
identity are the constant subjects as this article has shown.
