Sayed sajjad HaidarYaldram (1880- 1943) was an Urdu short story writer, travel
writer, translator, linguist, essayist and humorist. He is regarded as one among
the pioneers of short story writers. He occupies an eminent position among the
romantic prose writers. He also tested the mettle of his pen in the art of poetry
writing, which has remained unknown to most of the critics and researchers.
This reading aims at discussing the characteristics of his poetry and evaluating
his position among his contemporary poets.
