Reasons of killing of Arabic poets
Abstract
Arabic Literture emerged with its two major kinds; Prose & Poetry. It
is distinguished by its rhetorical expressions and attracts its reader
and strike to his mind and heart. Arabic Poetry is considers the oldest
form of literature than the Prose. The conection of Arabic Poetry goes
back to the pre-islamic period. The Arabic Poetry of that era is
characterized by its originality and a real picture of life. What ever
the poet has observed from the society and the environment placed
his idea in the form of poetry. Arabic Poetry has its themes like;
satire, eulogy, elegy and erotic etc. Eulogy was the targeted source of
the poets to get the precious gifts from the kings. Sataric Poetry was
like a weapon against the enemy of a tribe which led to the
intermittent war between the different tribes. Satire, Erotic and
Atheism resulted in the killings of Poets. This article deals with the
poets who were killed by different factors in different era like preislamic period, ummaya period and abbasi period. The article has
been divided into two chapters; 1. Arabic Poetry (emergence,
development). 2. Reasons of killing the poets.
