Urdu short story and two spiritual expressionists of Punjab: Ahmad N. Qasmi and Mansha Yad (A Comparative Analysis)
Abstract
Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi and Mansha Yad are two credible references
to Urdu short story. They focused on the rural life of Punjab Pakistani
Punjab in most of their fictional writings. Punjab, with its liveliness
and vitality, had descended into their souls. So, they were fully aware
of the life of the primitive classes of this region. Ahmad Nadeem
Qasmi was associated with Progressive Writers Movement, so he
considered social conditions more important than literary aesthetics
while Mansha Yad gave equal importance to the artistic structure of
his fiction in accordance to the thoughts of Halqa-e-Arbab-e-Zauq.
This research paper presents a comparative study of the short stories
of both writers in the context of illustrating rural life of Punjab.
