Abstract
Tahira Iqbal is one of those contemporary short story writers, whose social consciousness is bringing forth new possibilities in Urdu fiction. The rural society of Pakistani Punjab is the major focus of her short stories. This study covers the thematic issues in her short stories in this very context.
