Abstract
Hafez Sherazi was a great persian poet of Ghazal. His name was Muhammad, surname, Shams-ul-Din and nom de plume was Hafez, as he had memorized the Holy Quran by heart. His grandfather was an inhabitant of " Sarkan" a suburb of Isfahan city. Later on, he shifted to Sheraz in the period of "Atabkan" and settled down there. The occupation of his father was trade and his family was also distinguished in knowledge and piety. According to various researchers, Hafez was born in 726 A.H and died in 791 A.H at the age of sixty five. Although there is no match of Hafez in Persian mystic Ghazal, but after research it has been proved that his Ghazal is not less than anyone else regarding ethical teachings.
