Abstract
According to the teaching of the Holy Quran fasting was the vital part of all other religions like Islam. The basic purpose behind it is to get piety, righteousness and God consciousness. Every religion greatly emphasizes it, to declare that fasting is one of the basic obligations in Islam like salat almighty. Allah narrates in Quran that; it’s not something new that fasting is obligatory but indeed it was mandatory and obligatory on the previous ummahs as well. According to the encyclopedia of religions Fasting is to get completely abstraction from foods, drinks, smoking and intimate intercourse which exists in all religions and civilization. According to the encyclopedia of Britannica; Fasting is the integral part of all religions either for some basic purposes or during some sacred and holy moments. In short it is well declared from all doubts that fasting is and fasting was obligatory in all religions having basic characteristics and modules according to the specific religion.
