Abstract
Objective : To assess the self-leadership and department satisfaction as the factors influencing global health competencies among nursing students. Methodology: This cross-sectional study was conducted with convenient sampling of 188 nursing students in South Korea. The data were collected using self-report questionnaire. Self-leadership by Song, department satisfaction by Kim and Lees, global health competencies by Wilson instrument were used to gather data. The data were analyzed using t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation and multiple regression. Results: There were positive correlations between global health competencies and self-leadership, department satisfaction. Significant factors influencing global health competencies were self-leadership, department satisfaction. Conclusion: Programs that develop self-leadership and department satisfaction are necessary for college nursing students in order to promote global health competencies.
