Abstract
Inshaieya is a prominent form of prose writing in Urdu literature. A number of writers have proved their knowledge and skill in the field of essay writing. Jamil Aazar is one of such writers. Not only did he write great essays but also critically appreciated several famous Inshaeyas. Several other critics have acknowledged Jamil Aazar’s critical acumen by declaring him as the father of criticism on Inshaeya,s writing, especially when he is an established critic whose major contribution is to elevate this form to new heights. The present article is an effort to highlight his contribution to Urdu literature in this connection.
