Abstract
The holy prophet Muhammed Sallallahualaihiwasallam made the moon split at Makkah. This miracle has been transmitted in Islamic literature as a narration that has been narrated by a number of followers. In the Holy Quran, this miracle has been quoted as a sign of resurrection rather than a miracle. Moreover, some of the followers have also reported that moon got split in the age of The Holy Prophet without mentioning the respective context that split was shown on the request of pagans of Makkah.Keeping in view these above said points,Sayyed Maudodi has fixed this incident as a sign of resurrection rather than a miracle. The writer has concluded that both opinions can easily be merged .It is possible that at first, the pagans demanded the holy Prophet to show this miracle and when it was shown, the Holy Prophet said that Day of resurrection was very near.
