Abstract
Natural phenomena have significant value in Punjabi
poetry, both classical and modern. Trees, plants,
shrubs and crops are used as references to enlighten
the world; from body to soul. Trees are associated with
almost every aspect of human life. This article briefly
elaborates countless aspects and meanings related to
the greenery of this world used in Punjabi classical
folk tales and modern poetry. Local trees, crops and
shrubs used as symbols by the Punjabi poets have also
been discussed. The article not only focuses Punjabi
literary eco-criticism but also explains the relationship
of a Punjabi with nature.
