Abstract
Hazara, one of the five districts of the then NWFP (now Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), played a key role in Pakistan Movement and served as the bastion of the League power in the Congress dominated province. Hazara remained in the fore front during the freedom struggle and wholeheartedly supported every move that meant to safeguard the rights of the Indian Muslims and finally to liberate them from foreign rule. All India Muslim League took considerably long time to get its roots in the Muslim majority areas of India, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. At this critical juncture Hazara Muslim League served as a base and launching pad of freedom struggle in this province. The people of this region not only provided wholehearted support to All India Muslim League but also offered sacrifices for the cause of freedom. Hence, this paper highlights the role of Hazara region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the freedom struggle for Pakistan with an impartial and unbiased approach.
