Abstract
Muhammad Hamid Saraj is a radiant star among the galaxy of the short story writers of the eighties. Despite hailing from the far flung district of Mianwali, his literary status is nothing shorter than any other high-ranked writer belonging to the centers of mainstream art and literature. He deals with the themes of modern world and its impacts on Pakistani society. His short stories reflect the problems and decline of moral values in the wake of globalization. He pays homage to his glorious legacy. He mourns lack of leisure, indifference, and deviousness of modern man. He gets disappointed seeing his fellow beings working like machines and declining fraternity among them. Atrocities committed by American forces as well as terrorism of the extremists are the themes of his writings. This study deals with the impacts of globalization that promotes western civilization and depreciates eastern traditions.
