Abstract
,\ la~oratory experiment was undertaken to study the transformation of...b fusca and S. ac_l!LE!8ta in soil under different salinity, temperature and moisture regimes. Mineralization of the two materials was retarded at high salinity and moisture butaccelerated at high temperature. aculeata mineralized more rapidly than J.... fusca under. all the conditions but b.. fusca contributed more to the stable organic matter component. ~. aculeata proved to be a better source for the synthesis of microbial biomass than 1: fusca. Soil amended with ..h fusca resulted in a net immobilization of mineral N. whereas aculeata amendment caused an accumulation of mineral N. Losses of mineral N were recorded in ~ acul~!l!.9. amended soils at high salinity, moisture and temper' ature.
