Abstract
Soil erosion is a serious problem of rainfed areas which is not only causing loss of soil mass but also deteriorating soil fertility and productivity. Decreased soil fertility can be ameliorated by the judicious use of organic and inorganic fertilizers. This study was conducted under greenhouse on eroded loess soil using organic and inorganic fertilizers. Results indicated that maize root/shoot growth and nutrient uptake was significantly increased due to application of organic and inorganic fertilizers.■ FYM was better than nitrogen and phosphorous fertilizers use in isolation. However, highest yield and nutrient uptake was observed when these were used in combination.
