Abstract
The research paper aims to probe Cathy Caruth’s Trauma Theory in Khushwant
Singh’s Train to Pakistan and Saadat Hassan Manto’s “Khol Do”. The objective
of the research is to unveil the gruesome archives of traumatic happenings of
partition through a comparative analysis of Sundari in Train to Pakistan and
Sakina in “Khol Do”. Cathy Caruth’s Trauma Theory is the secondary source for
the research paper. The study heightens the significance of trauma as an event
which fragments human consciousness but is ripe with the potential to be shaped
