Abstract
Language is identity of any nation. It is a way of
communication. Every nation has its language that is a
source of expression of individuals' personalities.
According to 1973’s constitution Urdu was declared as
national language of Pakistan and it was said that it will be
implemented within 15 years as the official language. But
in spite of passing 43 years Urdu is not been implemented
as official language. A focused group discussion was
arranged to know the perspective of educationists about
Urdu as a medium of instruction and it was agreed mutually
that Urdu must be taught from the initial classes to the
higher level classes
