Abstract
“Manzoom Tanqeed means the critique in the form of poetry and in Urdu criticism it has a valid and reliable tradition and a part of one’s style. Poets normally appreciate their own work and their predecessor’s in their poetry and they use to comment about their rivals as well and their remarks were always based upon their own theory of criticism this is called Manzoom criticism. We found features of criticism in Urdu poetry earlier rather than the prose and this poetic criticism was developed with poetry. In this regard Josh Malih Abadi had very solid, balanced and clear critical thoughts about the art and demands of poetry, poetic styles, responsibilities and conditions for a critic in his poetry. Josh`s poetry played a vital role to promote poetic criticism in Urdu.
