Abstract
Bahawalpur state in South Punjab with its Abbasid Rulers,has governed from
1747 to 1947 A.D.Its official language upto end of 19th century A.D. was
Persian.The state rulers had been encouraging to Persian writers and poets of
this region which resulted in expansion of not only Persian Literature and poetry
but even Urdu and Sraiki Languages flourished under them.Nawab Sadiq Khan
IV(1861-1899) era is considered as a rich and glourious period due to his
devotion for the State and many social,cultural,economical and educational
developments. In this Writeup the selected work in the odes and elegy form of
the Persian poets of Bahawalpur state and some others for their loving Nawab
4th have been reviewed.Poets have very successfully reflected the features of his
persnality and his dignifiend leadership and they have presented a wonderful
tribute to their beloved Nawab.
