Abstract
Among Urdu Classical writers, Mir Taqqi Mir., has an imminent stature. His
poetry contains streaks of philosophical awareness. His way of observing,
understanding and inferring is philosophical. He discerns the intricacies of life
and the universe through his philosophical lenses and expresses the same
through his ever fertile imagination. His philosophical approach is eclectic in
nature. His poetry is a harmonious blend of Eastern and Western ideals.
Although, Mir Couldn't achieve the status of a purely philosophical poet yet the
philosophical gems- of metaphysics, ethics and aesthetics-sparking in his work
are all too bright to be ignored. His greatness lies in the fact that he weaved the
integrals of philosophy and Sufism in his poetry. This philosophical awareness
is a treasured asset of his poetry.
