Abstract
Feminism as a movement and intellectual discourse has to face many challenges
especially after 1960; the onslaughts have been mainly from intellectual,
cultural, social and religious circles. The paper seeks to critically review, the
nature and extent of these objections. The article presents a holistic view of
criticism offered on the feminist ideology and attempts to unearth its underlying
biases with reference to dominant social, cultural and religious discourse. The
paper concludes that most of the objections on feminism are primarily based on
misconceptions and biases of those who perceive it as a threat to patriarchy.
